Mr Schumacher trains using the system developed by the German Cavalry, adopted by the German Equestrian Federation, which he believes is the kindest and most proven system for the warmblood horse today. The training pyramid: rhythm and relaxation, looseness and suppleness, contact, impulsion, straightness and collection is the fundamental training progression,

Conrad Schumacher, former German National Dressage Team Member trained from 1968 to 1978 under the late German World Champion and Olympic medalist Josef Neckerman. After winning the Hessen State Championships in 1982, Mr. Schumacher focused on teaching and coaching. A few of his coaching credits include training the European Young Rider first place Championship Team as well as individual medal winners from 1979 to 1989. Among his notable protégés are Sven Rothenberger,

who won team Silver and individual Bronze medals for the Netherlands at the 1996 Olympic Games, and Dutch rider Ellen Bontje, Silver medalist at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. From 1991to 2003 Mr. Schumacher coached the USDF Junior/Young Rider Program. He conducted USDF National Dressage Symposia and has given USDF Instructor /Trainer workshops & is currently teaching clinics across the US. We are fortunate to have Jennifer Baumert of Cloverlea Dressage, a long time student of Mr. Schumacher, host him for 5 days at Cross Creek Farm where she is
